Winter Blues Diffuser Blend

It’s cold here in Chicago and late fall/winter isn’t my favorite. I’m spending a lot of time indoors and I’ve been diffusing lots of different essential oil blends, but this one is my favorite so far. It has really helped me stay motivated and creative as I have a lot planned for my business this winter. I’ve diffused frankincense and sweet orange in the past and I love those two oils together, but the addition of cinnamon leaf really makes this an exceptional blend for winter.

This blend is warming, sweet, and woodsy and will definitely help you beat the winter blues. Add this blend to your diffuser to help inspire creativity, increase motivation, uplift your mood, decrease anxiety, fight seasonal depression, and soothe the spirit. Winter Blues Diffuser Blend

  • 5 drops Frankincense
  • 8 drops Sweet Orange
  • 3 drops Cinnamon Leaf

***Increase or decrease oils to suit your needs and the size of your diffuser.

Frankincense

Botanical Name – Boswellia carterii
Botanical Family – Burseraceae (resinous trees and shrubs)
Plant Origin – Somalia, Oman, Yemen
Skin Types – Suitable for most skin types.
Aromatic & Emotional Effects – Helps to enhance mental perception, spirituality, and soothes the spirit.
Medical Properties – Anticatarrhal, anticancer, antidepressant, antiseptic, antitumoral, and immune-stimulant.
Key Constituents – L-limonene, myrcene, sabinene, incensol, borneol, olibanol

Sweet Orange

Botanical Name – Citrus sinensis
Botanical Family – Rutaceae (citrus)
Plant Origin – Sicily, Israel, Spain, USA
Skin Types – Suitable for all skin types.
Aromatic & Emotional Effects – Helps with anxiety, depression, shock, nervous tension, improves one’s mood
Medical Properties – Antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antipspasmodic, detoxifier
Key Constituents – d-limonene, myrcene

Cinnamon Leaf

Botanical Name – Cinnamomum zeylanicum
Botanical Family –Lauraceae
Plant Origin – Sri Lanka
Skin Types – Use with caution and always make sure you dilute cinnamon leaf since it’s know to cause skin irritation in some people.
Aromatic & Emotional Effects – Helps with anxiety, depression, increases energy, provides emotional support, improves motivation
Medical Properties – Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-fungal, antioxidant, antiviral, immune support
Key Constituents – Eugenol, acetyleugenol, safrole

Avoid while pregnant. May cause skin irritation.
